The International Parliament of Education was invited by the State Congress of Yucatan, Mexico. They hosted the Forum "Let´s Talk About Peace: Prevention, Citizen Participation and Community Strengthening", which was attended by representatives of academia, business, civil society and government. Mr. Luis Ruiz, President of The International Parliament of Education asked Mr. Miguel Lara to attend the event to represent him during this important event.
During the meeting, different axes related to the culture of peace were addressed around five thematic tables (education, art and culture, sport, community fabric and communication). The objective of the plural Forum was to listen to the voices of the various actors in society, to nurture a project initiative to create a Culture of Peace Law.
The exhibitions were given by experts in education, art and culture, social fabric and community, communication and sport so that from each of these sectors the points to be addressed to consolidate peace are developed. Deputy David Valdéz Jimenéz, who promoted the event, said: "I thank all those who participate in this Forum today; I am convinced that, beyond the area of performance of each
profile, what unites us is the will to build peace .” finished.
