The Cathedral of Los Angeles is showcasing fibers from the Ayate of San Juan Diego. As part of the celebrations for La Virgen Peregrina, guided tours were held at the Cathedral in California. One of the highlights of the visit was the recognition of the revered image of the Virgin of Guadalupe made in mosaics. At her feet, there is a modern sculpture depicting San Juan Diego, who holds a small circle containing fibers from the Ayate. These fibers were donated in the 20th century to the authorities by Mexican ecclesiastical authorities in recognition of their support for Cristero communities fleeing Mexico due to the Cristero War persecution. President Luis Ruiz acknowledged the significance of the Image as a symbol of unity and reconciliation for migrants with their original communities, in the presence of Monsignor Diego Monroy Ponce, former Rector of the Basilica of Guadalupe. Sculptor Jorge Ismael Rodriguez and Dr. Adriana Hernandez, Executive Director of the Parliament, also discussed the importance of Fine Arts collaborating with religious authorities to showcase Mexican culture abroad.
