On February 7, the Ministry of Energy (SENER) and The International Parliament of Education carried out the first module of the Artificial Intelligence Applied to the Energy Sector course, aimed at key personnel of the agency, such as directors and heads of departments. The main objective of the course was to provide participants with a deep understanding of the definitions and potential impact of Artificial Intelligence in the energy field.Through various activities and presentations, the scope of AI in key sectors such as nuclear energy, solar energy, wind energy and non-renewable energies was discussed.
Likewise, topics such as the sociopolitical and cultural environment of Mexico, digital citizenship and the everyday applications of AI were addressed. Advanced concepts were explored such as the development of smart cities, energy resilience at a bioregional level, and collective intelligence strategies and self-managing communities. A special focus was given to the prospect of AI in the evolution of renewable and clean energy.
The course was taught by the Executive Director of The International Parliament of Education, Dr. Adriana Hernández de Lago, the social architect, Mr. Juan Carlos Kaiten Quintanilla, and the specialized teacher, Mr. Chrysto Galeana Abdo. The speakers guided the participants through a series of interactive discussions, answering questions and proposing evaluation activities to measure learning.
This course marked the beginning of a cycle of four planned modules and served to establish a solid foundation on Artificial Intelligence in the energy sector, allowing participants to learn about new technological advances and reflect on how to apply them to strengthen the country's energy development.

Curso de Inteligencia Artificial para Directores de la Secretaria de Energía
El pasado 7 de febrero, la Secretaría de Energía (SENER) y The International Parliment of Education llevaron a cabo el primer módulo del curso Inteligencia Artificial Aplicada al Sector Energético, dirigido a personal clave de la dependencia, como directores y jefes de departamentos. El objetivo principal del curso fue proporcionar a los participantes una comprensión profunda de las definiciones y el potencial impacto de la Inteligencia Artificial en el ámbito energético. A través de diversas actividades y presentaciones, se discutieron los alcances de la IA en sectores clave como la energía nuclear, la energía solar, la energía eólica y las energías no renovables.
Asimismo, se abordaron temas como el entorno sociopolítico y cultural de México, la ciudadanía digital y las aplicaciones cotidianas de la IA. Se exploraron conceptos avanzados como el desarrollo de ciudades inteligentes, la resiliencia energética a nivel bioregional, y las estrategias de inteligencia colectiva y comunidades autogestivas. Un enfoque especial se dio a la prospectiva de la IA en la evolución de las energías renovables y limpias.
El curso fue impartido por la Directora Ejecutiva de The International Parliament of Education, la Doctora Adriana Hernández de Lago, el arquitecto social y maestro Juan Carlos Kaiten Quintanilla, y el maestro especializado en temas de comunicación Chrysto Galeana Abdo. Los ponentes guiaron a los participantes a través de una serie de discusiones interactivas, rescatando dudas y proponiendo actividades de evaluación para medir el aprendizaje.
Este curso marcó el inicio de un ciclo de cuatro módulos planificados y sirvió para establecer una base sólida sobre la Inteligencia Artificial en el sector energético, permitiendo a los participantes conocer los nuevos avances tecnológicos y reflexionar sobre cómo aplicarlos para fortalecer el desarrollo energético del país.
